Love that I thought of

When I was younger

I thought that love

It was something like a fairytale

I would find my princess

And we would be together forever

I was dumb

And I was wrong

Love is not a fairytale

It's something else entirely

Something that should be cherished and loved

And never taken for granted

Love is something that you have to work for

It doesn't come easy

You have to sacrifice

Your time, your effort

And sometimes you have to give up 

You have to do what's best for yourself

And sometimes that means giving love up
